Unable to set Default Payroll Payable Account

In the default production setup, the company assigned Default Payroll Payable Account is empty. If you try to assign the salary account from the default chart of accounts, it is not available from the list, despite the fact that (in my opinion) the settings are correct:

Tried both empty and payable as account type. Any ideas?

You should see a “Payroll Payable” account in the default settings if you are on the latest version. This should be a liability account under balance sheet.

Thanks, yes, found it under liabilities (Liability > Payroll Payable).
