I’m trying to set up appropriate fee structures for my college, but I am unable to figure out how to incorporate government taxes. We used to just use the sales invoice, but the schools module offers so many nice integrations. Is there a best way to do this?

In the Fee Structure, the formula based feature gives you flexibility to calculate tax amount based on the value of other Fee Categories. You can add/select Fee Categorize for taxes and define formula based on how tax amount is calculated as per the value in the other Fee Categories.

You have a valid point. Currently, there isn’t any tax integration in the Fees doctype. You can create the GitHub issue for the same with the Education tag.
