How to go about item with alot of variants

I need help on the best way to implement the below scenario…
For company that manufactures clothes how do i go about items entry…problem am facing is as follows…the items eg t-shirts has 20 different colours and 10 different sizes…if i want to do BOM’ s i will need to manually add BOM for all the item variants…is there a simpler way to achieve this
Secondly the tshirts can be embroided, printed or just plain…Do i add embroidery as variant and Printing??since embroidery and printing have additional charges.during invoicing i need to factor the charges

You could possibly try the data import tool to import BOMs in bulk
