Hi
How can I create an item with three dimensions.
e.g. I want to create an Item : Hard Drive as follows

Item No

Item Name

Size

Grade

Colour

IT001

Hard Drive

1 TB

Sata

Black

IT001

Hard Drive

500 GB

USB

White

Hard Drive

160 GB

IDE

Item No & Item Name should be conman.

in the existing setup I have to create separate item for each parameter, it is increasing inventory load.

Hi Prasad,

You will need to add item separately for each dimension if you maintain stock level for dimension of item like Size, Grade and Colour.

If you don't maintain Stock for each dimension, then insert a custom field on item level in transaction and enter the dimension values for item while making transaction. You can also enter these values in Description of item.

Hope this helps.

Also, I am sure all these items have different pricing. Without creating separate codes, you will never get idea of profitability, and quantity.

In short, its almost always better to create separate codes - its only a one time effort and beneficial in the long run.
