Cost Center Number Mandatory, possible bug

I entered incorrect text while making a cost center. On realization I tried renaming it using . But system now needs Cost Center Number as mandatory field. I dont use numbering for Chart of Accounts or Cost Center.

I think its a bug in
ERPNext: v12.9.4 (version-12)
Frappe Framework: v12.6.2 (version-12)

In latest update version 12, cost center number is not mandatory.
