Bench Update will not start

Try to run bench update --reset and bench migrate

bench update --reset fails with a Python error that 127.0.0.1:13000 cannot be accessed, because bench isn’t started. bench won’t start because… who knows. I’m just going to give up on the VM images, which are months old anyway, and take my chances with a fresh install of Ubuntu + git master. I hope this isn’t as painful as I’m expecting.
