Dear All,Where does erpnext store all the attachments? Is there a way we can change the location from server to the client? We do a lot of custom cnc work where we need to store the drawing files associated with the order. If the files are stored on the client it becomes easy to access and edit them as and when required.RegardsSatish–

To me these are two separate issues.
-
CAD files are typically big. If a company has multiple geographic locations, it may be necessary to store documents on the LAN at each geographic site for efficient access.
-
CAD files must be trusted as they are input documents to many processes, and are often revised and updated.
Is anyone working with large file attachments? How do your users find access time? If you have multiple geographic locations, have you experimented with caching files locally, or storing to a local vault first, then replicating to other sites or synchronizing on demand?
What about trust? Do you simply have a trusted person (i.e. someone with appropriate security profile) add the revised document as a new attachment? Do you delete the old attachment when you add an updated attachment? What have you found works for you?
Cheers,
Dale
