When I create an item what is the benefit in taking the extra step to add a manufacturer and part number to it? More importantly what is the benefit in selecting that Manufacturer when entering a Purchase Order for the item? Is there some sort of analytics I get because when I look at the Item Manufacturer page I don’t see any information being collected or Purchase Orders being linked to.
