Website Module is now LIVE

Hi all,

We are very excited to release the Website Module today...

Some initial queries:

- Speed is a *lot* faster than the initial demo
- Yes, it is SEO friendly (we have a few more tricks up our sleeves and will make it more friendly in the near future)
- Yes, you can host it on your own domain (you need add a CNAME entry in your DNS records to point to yourapp.erpnext.com) and add the domain to Website -> Website Settings

A Small Offer and Request:

We will give extended support (including making limited photoshop files) to the FIRST 5 customers who want to  setup their website. We want to create a showcase that will help others use this as a website tool.

Please drop us a line at su...@erpnext.com if you are interested.

Well Rushabh,

This website thing is a great addition to the ERP. I am working on taking my current website onto the ERP, I will definitely bug you with things since my job is just to copy one website to another URL. I have all the files since the website is hosted on my godaddy account therefore kindly let me know if you need my FTP details.

Hi all - we recently moved our website to use ERPNext's website module (even if still in alpha). Does any one have tips on how to optimize the site to be SEO friendly? I've noticed that we are no longer on the front page results for our local Google searches.

Laurence,

Found this page:

Seems some of the titles may have had "Manila" or "Philippines" before. Also did you check if you have updated the links in Google Maps?

This is a concern for me too. I just entered a test, while residing in Austria ( I live in NL)  and entered a very targetted  search "vers voer hond enschede"  That translates as "raw food dog enschede". Our two websites dogloveit.nl and dogsloveit.info both appear on the first page. Examining all the 8 returned pages of google, no mention of erpnext.dogsloveit.com

I do not know why. Some how expect that Google does not see this as a Dutch site.

Further too this: I copied a line from a blog i wrote mid august.  Gaby en Michael, mijn zwager en schoonzus, zijn op weg naar Enschede langs onze kwaliteits producent in Beieren gereden in Google and google does not find the site meaning that the blog has not been indexed since 6 weeks. I had similar problems with the other blog ennties and manually indicated the blog adress to google. The can now been found.

I am no expert in SEO and have no clue why this is happening.

Robert,

You have to trust us on this one. ERPNext SEO works. Its not catching the .erpnext.com site because its a sub-domain not directly linked from any site.

The markup is really good and follows all the latest standards - You will see that your page will start showing up even for the products you sell.

Robert,

Its just a subdomain issue - Once you are on your domain, Google will automatically start indexing it better.

Hi,
Is the showcase ever created? ( If so, where are the docs?) That would be useful documentation.

Hi All,
Please I’m trying to add an ERPNext module like buying to website view.
I integrate a admin template to my website view and I want to use some of erpnext module in this web site.
Please help me.
Thank you
