Ubuntu 16.04 installation

I have a laptop running Ubuntu 16.04 64bit. I’m trying to setup ERPNext for a demo to a prospective customer. (I have been an ERP Consultant for over 20 years and have decided to branch out into Open Source). I have really been battling with this!

wget https://raw.githubusercontent.com/frappe/bench/master/install_scripts/setup_frappe.sh ← this works

sudo bash setup_frappe.sh --setup-production ← gives me this: Installing for Ubuntu xenial amd64

Any assistance would be appreciated! I have tried Odoo and it installed very easily. But I don’t think it is suitable to my customer. Thanks.

Can you try it after removing http://mirror.stshosting.co.uk/mariadb/repo/10.0/ubuntu from /etc/apt/sources.list. Or try it on fresh ubuntu install so it will be simpler to trace problems.

for demo there are two easy alternatives :

  1. ERPNext Demo or ERPNext Trial
  2. Try it on VM - https://erpnext.com/download

Hey, as mentioned on the Bench Readme, the script you used only works upto 15.x, we have since deprecated it and recommend you use the new Beta script : GitHub - frappe/bench: CLI to manage Multi-tenant deployments for Frappe apps

Also, I’d recommend starting from scratch (fresh server), because the old installer might have made changes that might clash.
