Tax based on Customer instead of Stock Item

I am re-evaluating ERPnext for my company and it has sure grown a lot. Thank you to all the Devs that have supported this great project!

Is there a way to switch or override the per item tax to a per customer tax?

Some of my customers are tax exempt for one or both of the taxes so I need to be able to assign it based on customer instead of per item.
So I would need to charge tax on a “per Customer” basis instead of a “per Item” basis.

I do understand the need for a “per Item” basis as well but that does not work in my case.

You may play with Pricing Rules, Price List & Tax Rules as per your requirement.
