[SOLVED] Item description obligatory? Why?

Hello,

The Description field is obligatory everywhere (Item, Sales Order, etc.).
Why is this? 99% of the times I have no need for it.
Is it safe to reconfigure it to be optional?

@nununo hi you can make it non mandatory through customize form option for that
1 Search for Customize form on the top search bar
2 Enter Form type as Item
3 Search for Description field and click on it
4 uncheck the Mandatory check box
5 click on Update

Understood. Thanks. I did just that. Anyway I asked because maybe there was a good reason for it to be obligatory.
