Show mandatory field in doctype documentation and class extension

Hi there,

any chance to add mandatory field in documentation?

would be possible to provide an example on how to extend classes for erpnext?

Let’s say i’d like to extend pos and so that barcode will have to be looked up on an custom child item barcode table? How is possible to extend?

POS is a special page. Every “class” can only be extended if it allows extension points (hooks) I am not sure POS is extensible at the moment

@rmehta thanks for the answer, i got that’s possible to extend only hookable function, i can’t understand if i have to rewrite from scratch, or copy the function definition and modify it.

Would be possible to post a screen cast on that?
