Search field filter does not work

Dear colleagues,

I have a strange issue in an ERPNext v10 instance: we two custom doctypes, one of them (SDG Goal) is linked into a field of the other. On SDG Goal, search fields are title and nr. This shows correctly on the form:

However, if a part of the key (e.g. 5) is entered, the list goes empty.

There is no query override. What am I missing? Thanks!

Customer as link field: searching fields and the shape

Hello; What is the story of using Customer as link field? I selected in the customize form the searching field to be based on the phone field but when I do search (while I am selecting the customer), I do not find any customer. This situation is not existed with Customer link field in sales order and sales invoice but when I add Customer as link field in any other doctype, I do not see the search fields has any value (also I do not see any of these fields in the drop down).
