Sales Order - Could not find Production Plan Cross Reference

I am trying to create a Sales Oder from a Quotation. When I try to save the Sales Order I get a pop up message “Could not find Production Plan Cross Reference: Production Plan.outputs”.
Ticking or unticking the “Is for Manufacturing” box makes no difference.
