Re: [erpnext-user-forum] Digest for erpnext-user-forum@googlegroups.com - 10 Messages in 4 Topics

Dear Sukumar,
Chart of accounts is pretty much the same irrespective of the industry you are operating in. Once you create the company in erpnext it will create the basic chart by default. This covers all the broad heads of account as per Indian Accounting Standards. This can be modified as per your requirement. Under each group you can add child accounts as per your company's need. You can also add groups and sub groups as you may find necessary.
All this is possible from the accounts module-chart of accounts. You click on each head and the relevant links are shown - add, delete, rename etc. from where you can perform the necessary action.

Regards,
Mehul.

 Hi Knight,
We too are a small co which has moved from tally to erpnext six
months ago. The staff which were using tally have moved over to erpnext

very easily. They are able to handle all the transactions with ease and it

did not take much time for them to learn - they were set in a weeks time. I

would not compare tally with erpnext as they are basically two different

products. Tally is basically for accounts with average stock handling

capabilities. ERP is basically to manage all the resources of the company.

Apart from the cost erpnext is way ahead of tally in many ways and as you

use it you would come across some features which would give you ideas to

improve you business. We are very happy with the product and would suggest

you seriously give it a shot. Apart from that they have a fantastic support

team which will address your concerns promptly.

Regards,

Mehul.
