Question regarding the translation of custom fields text and the translation pointing

Hello Guys,

i have a question regarding the translations the text for the custom fields and the error messages.

right now i was able to create the custom field but i need to translate the text for that custom fields, and i was also writing the validation for these custom fields, i was using wn._(“please enter a digit”);

but i need to know how to translate how to translate that text.

and now the final question.

the translation file ar.csv ,

for example : lets take a word “Account” from the ar.csv

i want to know are you using the translation for this word “Account” across the whole system or is there any other translation for every page where this word appears.

thanks guys.

You will need to first build the master translation file (I think I have answered this before)

lib/wnf.py --export_messages ar app/translations/ar.csv

Whole phrases are translated in one go, if account is used as a single term, then it will be translated from that row, if it is used in a sentence, then its a different translation. So you will have to update all translations in the master file.

I hope you are going to send a pull-request once you complete your translations!

thanks guys.

Thanks Rusabh for the replies.

indeed, you have answered the questions before but i think last time it was regarding the import_messages but this time i guess its about the export_messages.

i just want to cross-verify.

i create a new FIELD called : ROLL NUMBER.

since i want to have an arabic text for the ROLL NUMBER.

i export all the messages to ar.csv

now i navigate to the text ROLL NUMBER and add its equivalent arabic text.

and for the "custom error message’s " i will have do it the same,

Navigate to Please enter a digit and write its own equivalent arabic text.

and then import the messages back with import_messages.

Is That Correct ?

YES, we will surely, send a pull-request once we are completely finished with the translations, thought its going to take time but yes we will do it.

Thanks.

Syed.
