Question: How to make the taxes round off at individual levels?

Basically as you all might be aware that in India there are multiple
taxes and their calculation is tedious as well. I was wondering if it
is possible to round off taxes at individual levels. I would elaborate
on this with an example.

Example 1:

Sale Amount = INR 10.00
BED @10% of Sale Amount = 1.00
Ecess @2% of BED= 0.02
SAHCess @1% of BED= 0.01
VAT @5.25% of total amount = 0.58

Total = 11.61
Rounded = 12.00

The above is the current scenario, but I am looking for:

Sale Amount = INR 10.00
BED @10% of Sale Amount = 1.00
Ecess @2% of BED= 0.02 (round to 1.00)
SAHCess @1% of BED= 0.01 (round to 1.00)
VAT @5.25% of total amount = 0.58 (round to 1.00)

Total = 14.00

Example 2:

Sale Amount = INR 243.00
BED @10% of Sale Amount = 24.30
Ecess @2% of BED= 0.49
SAHCess @1% of BED= 0.24
VAT @5.25% of total amount = 14.07

Total = 282.10
Rounded = 282.00

The above is the current scenario, but I am looking for:

Sale Amount = INR 243.00
BED @10% of Sale Amount = 24.00
Ecess @2% of BED= 0.49 (round to 1.00)
SAHCess @1% of BED= 0.24 (round to 1.00)
VAT @5.25% of total amount = 14.07 (round to 14.00)

Total = 283.00

Is this kind of calculation possible as it is needed by the excise
department.

Hi Aditya,

We have customers using excise, but they don't require rounding off at every stage of the calculation. The final rounded amount seems to work fine so far for everyone else. Any if you quote additional tax, you will have to pay a higher tax back to the government and no one is wiser!

Dear Mr Rushabh,

I agree with you but this is a requirement from our tax consultants
and we would need this, to actually proceed with the implementation of
this app on our accounts side.

Please let me know if there is any solution possible on this front.
