Query on the profit & Loss report

To whom it may concern
I'm not sure I understand why on the profit and loss financial statement the Net profit/loss is cumulative.  
If I want to see the monthly profit/loss I want my bottom line to be the monthly amount of profit or loss.  As it is now, I have to do column n - column n-1 to find the profit loss for a specific quarter / month etc.

Is there a way we can make it non-cumulative?

Please check Profit and Loss statement in:

Accounts >> Main Reports >> Financial Analytics

P&L statement in this report doesn't have cumulative balance for each months, but only for that specific month.
