was wondering if it would be more efficient to have an operations master alongside the workstations master such that we can choose from pre-defined operations in every BOM.

Dear Sonal,
As per the design, Operation No. is just to define the sequence in
which Work Stations is used and Raw Material is consumed in production
process.
As understood from Sanjay (your colleague), operations will be added
as Work-Station only in the system.
We will surely give it a thought to make it more intuitive when start
revamping Production module.
