Material Request - Purchase - to take from stock?

Hi Everyone!

We are using the production planning tool to create the material requests and work orders, but we got to a point where we have some items that need to be mostly bought but sometimes we still have stock in our warehouse.

Is there any way we can take from stock to satisfy these material requests or we have to create a purchase order for it?

What amazes me is that the material request is always ‘purchase’ even if we have in stock :confused:

I know in Item we can change the default material request type, but it should actually be depending on the stock if we have or not, if don’t have then go with a purchase type.

Hi,
production planning tool should read onhand qty first and other information then create purchase request.

check if your onhand not reserved allocated to an other work order?

or create full scenario from scratch and see result.
