Item Wise Sales Register Parent Item Group

Hi,
When I try to filter the Item Wise Sales Register with a Parent Item Group, no results are shown.
Can we show results in this report like we do in Stock Balance Report, which shows results of corresponding Child Item groups when a Parent Item group is added to the filter?
