Item Options/Customizations at Sales Order

Hi All,

Wanted to pick your brains on something.

How would you implement item options (not variants) that do not result in creating separate inventory items.

ex: An item purchased that can have its doors attached on Left side OR Right side.
Items are customized before shipping to customer. Regardless of option it is the same inventory item and price of the item is not effected by the option.

If this is true then what you’re describing is best achieved by a custom field or… just reusing the description field for specifying the product configuration that is sold.
