When i select from the below list in item code it takes code of product instead of Item name or description.

Item name will be visible on the expanded view of the Material Request Item table.

From where i have to edit item table… First column is Item Code. Can i replace it with Item Name.
Item code field is for adding items.
You can however, set the Item Name field to show in the child table next to it.
Go to Customize Form, and select Material Request Item, then for the Item Name field check In list View.
