I stay updated with major releases that happen for ERPNext and Frappe, but I think we should have some kind of official changelog that lets users know what has been added in the system that is significant. I just saw the 8.2 release and there is no information given our regarding why was there a bump from 8.1 to 8.2. I had to figure it out by looking at the commits mentioned in the release. What I can gather is, I’m assuming it’s because of this new feature
