I would like to second to this feature, this has been a long request from many of the users and I think it is high time that we are able to attach a PL with a customer, things it would be useful in:

  • As far as I can see this feature would be useful for customers whom we give a quote for certain items and these quotes are not based on any discount but are special prices for a product.
  • Any other benefits people can let me know

This feature would definitely, for a number of clients, have (important benefits). I maintain two pricelist (normal and “our own use/consumption”). However, again more data is to be entered, so I suggest that the standard price list, or a priocelist defined in global defaults, is “fetched” in case no alternative is defined.

Well as of now we can have price lists specific to customers since we can create multiple price lists but the problem is that it would create a lot of price lists for those people using ERP who generally give specific prices to their customers.

Till the time a solution is found out the work around is:

  • Create a Standard Price List for all your customer and mention the same the in the GLOBAL defaults
    • This would ensure that whenever a SO is made the default price list is fetched.
    • Now you have the option to give the customers discounts on this default price list or you can also Mark up the prices mentioned in the price list (just enter -10 as the discount in the discount table of a customer)
  • Now if you need to create a specific price list for a customer then create a new price list with the name of the customer.
  • When you create this PL then you would see an option to select this PL from SO drop down.

Now the problem with this system is that even if I have like 20 customers with whom I have special pricing and I create 20 price lists for their name then selecting them in the SO would become tedious since PL selection is a drop down list.

The solution which I think is best is this (for the developers)

  • Create a New DOCTYPE named Special Pricing
  • This doctype would be type of “TABLE”
  • This table should have the following columns (Item Group, Item Code, Price, Currency)
  • Now add this table to the customer master

Now we would have the ability to have special pricing with the customer without cluttering the Price List table which I think should be used for standard type of price lists or some kind of Special Offers.

Hi All,

For a long time, this feature request is awaiting in our github issue list. Now we think this is the time to prioritize it as most of our customers are feeling it's need.

Hi,

While you are at it  I would also think that a button might be
helpful in the quote screen to copy or transfer the price into the
customers/leads price list. If that is to difficult to be able to see
the last given price with a click of a button.

Thanks,

Turk

Well what I am thinking is that the we could use the current Discount Table which we are using for giving discounts for the Item Groups.

Rather than creating a new doctype we could merely add a column in the current doctype “Customer Discount Detail” the column would be the item code. This ways we would not be adding a new doctype and also we could add the functionality of a customised pricing for a customer.

Hi All,

The development of customer/customer group wise price list has been completed and it will go live in our next release.
You can assign a default price list in customer/customer group and it will appear automatically in the sales transaction.
