With ERPNext version 5.2, all of the “Yes” or “No” type select fields in Item DocType will be changed to Checkboxes. (Pull Request: [cleanup] yes/no selects changed to checks in Item by rmehta · Pull Request #3718 · frappe/erpnext · GitHub)
This will likely break your customisations that use “Yes/No” based if conditions for Item DocType. You can follow this thread so that once this pull request is merged (most likely on Monday 27 July 2015), you will receive an update and proceed accordingly.
