Import error in item list

Hi,
trying to import a list of item. this is the error I get: Error for row (#21) 21 : {“message”: “Item Code is mandatory because Item is not automatically numbered”, “indicator”: “red”}
(I did provide an item no. a random one, and as far as I am concerned this is not a mandatory field)
How can the import succeed?

check your item, row#21 or you can skip item row#21. you have problem with that.

Is your “Item Naming By” field in Stock Settings set to Item Number or Item Code?

Hi,
I have a long list of items and they all get the same error message, therefore it is not only no. 21
and I don’t keep stock, these are non-stock item,
any ideas on how to solve this?
