How to Short Close a Sales Order?

Please advice.

To short close a sales order you can click on Stop Sales Order. This will not allow delivery notes or invoices to be made against this SO.

But it would still show up in the Pending Sales Order by Item Report
which I think would not be the correct way. Also Stopping a Sales
Order in my opinion is different from Short Closing a SO.

Is there any other way?

I am using the STOP sales order command only and I have edited the
Sales Order Pending item reports to not show stopped Sales Order.

But this brings me to another query. Stopping a Sales Order would it
still be reflected in the Stock Level Report as items reserved or the
reservation is not going to be there for the Stock Level Report.

Hi Saumil,

I have a question with regards to stopping a SALES ORDER. I would like to know that if a SO is received for say 100 Nos of an item and 99 Nos are then delivered to the customer then what should be done to the remaining 1 Nos. Should we STOP the SO or we should cancel the SO or it wont be possible to cancel a SALES ORDER if there is a DN against it.

Hi Aditya,

In such scenario its recommended to Stop Sales Order.

Stopping a Sales Order doesn't allow user to create any documents against it unless unstopped.
