How to bound any user for projects?

this is "link" Restriction so i think you can do it for me........so thanks in advance.

suppose that i have two user one is Mr. Ram and second is Mr. Shyam.

suppose i have 4 project.

Project Name - Overhead tank, Boundary Wall, Diggi, Filter House.

i want to bound mr. Ram for "Overhead tank and Boundary wall only".

It means that

when Mr. ram want to make stock entry and he select "Material issue" now he want to issue 200 cement bags on then in project Name column, "Overhead tank", and "Boundary Wall" should only shown in list.

Sorry dear friend,

I think you did not understand what i need:

again i m describing here:

Suppose i have 5 projects in project list : for example A, B, C, D, E.

and i have 2 user say : Mr. Ram and Mr. Shyam.

Now i want that when Mr. Ram will make "Stock entry" then when he will select the Project Name then there should open only A , B Project only. other C,D,E Project he can not seen.. i want to do this....

Is it possible there?

Mahaveer,

You can achieve this by using Set Property feature.

Go to Profile of Ram.
Click on Set Properties.
User Properties option, click on Add A Property option.
Property = Project / Project Name
Value = A / B

Same way, you will need to Add Property for Shyam for project C, D and E.

You have to set "Condition" against the concerned role for "Stock Entry". You can set that from Setup -> Permission Manager. Also make sure that user have only role with match condition to access Stock Entry.

The user have 4 roles to access Stock Entry document.

With role "Dholpur Project" and "Projects User", he can access only projects mentioned in User Properties.

But through "Material User" and "Material Manager" role, he will be able to see all projects.

Because in permission manager when i goes to check projects then there is no material user and Material manager..

Please read: http://erpnext.org/docs.user.setup.permissions.html to get a better understanding of Permission Manager. It will clarify most of your basic questions like how to add a permission row for Project so that you can add Material User and Material Manager.

now if you want to say that this problem is generating due to material user and material manager then its ok leave it........

lets try with a new user to whom i want to allow only "Stock entry" with Project Name "A" & "B" Only.

so tell me what i have to do according to you.

as per my according:

1. i create new user Name = a@yahoo.com

2. i made a new role = only Stock Enty

3. then i assign this role to user = a@yahoo.com and one more role i assign to him that is = "Project user"

4. set permission to this role in Stock Entry

5. set condition = Project Name in Stock Entry matches User Property project_name.

6. I made a user property for user a@yahoo.com = Project_Name = "A" , = Project_Name = "B"

7. i have also set warehouse permission for this user.

Now tell me what i missed?

Because still when user a@yahoo.com is trying to enter "STOCK ENTRY" and selecting Project_name then he can see all project there.

For now all Projects will show in project search field in Stock Entry. But the user can only save the stock entry with the project mentioned in User Properties. Also user will be able to search stock entries with relevant project.

To restrict project search result, you have to add condition for Project doctype (based on link field available in Project) and using User Properties for that link field.
