How to add column to Stock Projected Qty Report?

Hi, what is involve or is there document for me to take a look? Unfortunately I am a PHP programmer and very new to Python.

Basically I want to add a column to calculate Shortage Quantity (Reorder Level - Projected Qty).

Why is this useful?
Purchase would like to raise PO manually base on Shortage Quantity.
I know the system can do MR automatically but since the MR is submitted, the purchaser cannot manually adjust the item quantity.
