Dear, sometimes you need to hack into the process. It is understood that the process breaks with an unnecessary error which can be completed after the migration. What I just did to survive the same message during a live system’s v.13 to v.14 was to edit the common_site_config file to take the system state out of maintenance mode and restart the bench. Thus, we were able to Customize the Form which is creating this problem. After the correction, the bench update --reset went smoothly and the system is up!
