Enabling Serial No for an ItemCode Midway

Hi All,

There are few stock items which used to come without any unique serial no or batch no. But recently all these are tagged with a serial no and I would like to add the same in ERP. But when I visit the item edit page to enable Serial No feature, I am unable to do so as the checkbox for serial no is greyed out. Is there any solution or workaround for the same?

You cannot add Serial numbers midway.

This has to be done before entering the stock in the system.

You can create a duplicate item with serialized inventory enabled at the beginning.

You need to deal with the remaining of your old stock too.
