Email Alert - Difference New and Save

I have 2 Email Alert set on New and Save.

New - When document is created
Save - When document is amended

However, I received both email alerts when creating a new document. I suspect that the email alert triggered when saving a new document.

A workaround would be to use when status changes.

I would like to know what is the difference between New and Save in Email Alert if both serves the same purpose.

Save also happens with New so that is why you get two alerts. You can use the “Set Property After” table to set a flag so that you don’t get multiple alerts.
