Apparently the client-side scripts/hooks/validations do not fire at all (or at least don’t fire reliably) in Report View. Many a times customer discover the grid edit feature by themselves and start (ab)using it. This can allow undesirable changes to data.
Is there a way to disable editing of Docs in Report View?
For most implementations, grid edit (in report view) may not be required at all. So a configuration option to allow edit in DocType Definition (for those who need it) could be a nice addition. It save a lot of headaches.
