Depreciation on last day of month

Hello,

I am trying to figure out how to make depreciation tally on the last day of the month.

For example:

  • I have one asset whose first depreciation happened on the last day of August (the 31st), and all subsequent depreciations also happen on the 31st (or the last day of the month in months with fewer than 31 days).
  • I have another asset whose first depreciation happened on the last day of September (the 30th). Now, all depreciations happen on the 30th, even in months with 31 days.

This seems arbitrary. I am able to make the last day of the month work only for items whose first depreciation happened in a month with 31 days. Is there any way to use the last day of the month consistently?

@gavagai currently the easy way is apply depreciation on the day 28, due the irregularity of days in all months
