Dear All, I noted that the field types "Long Text", "Text" and "Small Text" all produce a multi-line text box, regardless of the field's width. The latter does NOT seem to be respected anyway. Of course, all caches have been cleared, etc. etc. Am I missing something? Chris

No all default to Text in the database. Small Text is rendered differently in the view (the text area is much smaller!)

That's what I assumed, too, but it won't do that. For "Small Text, "Text" and "Long Text" the field entry size is the same, as big as the "Options" field in the Custom Field setup facility. :-(

Long Text is deprecated (we will remove that - there should be a difference in Small Text and Text though.

Alas, it won't make any difference - both text entry fields are multi-line and huge, same as the "Options" field in custom fields. Mac versus *nix appearance??? Also, entries in the "Width" are NOT honoured. Sorry - Chris
