Creation by link autofill field in new doc

Hi,
I have a doctype “IP public” with a field “ip_customer” and one “ip_resource” the first one link to a Customer the second one to a Serial No.
The goal is when clicking on ip_resource and made a new doc autofill the field customer in new Serial No bringing the information in ip_customer.

Reading in the forum i have read that there is add_fetch, i tried it but don’t work

Set options for linked doctypes

Hi everyone, I have two doctypes i.e first and second doctype, both with a name field, the name field is the naming series, the first doctype has a ‘next section’ button. I want to set route when this button is clicked, such that; In the first option, from the first doctype it can open a new form of the second doctype.i.e new second 1 2.else it opens a second doctype form with a similar name to the first doctype. I do not understand where to enter the field name of the second doctype. Is there a way to do it without using a button, but to create it starting from the link?

Does this Serial No field have the customer value ? You can try this method for your case :-

New doctype or other ideas?

A new doctype seems like a sensible option. I want to ask, thus every CulitvarID, Genus Species, and Common Name will be a unique combination. If you make a doctype and feed all the data, then there is a way you can do it. For that you will have to customize CulitvarID into a Link field with the name of the Doctype you create in Options of the DocField. Do you wish to fill this field Customer when Serial No is selected, right ? If I am getting it right - then I assume that while Serial you also added the customer.

Yes it’s correct, fill customer field in serial no when select new serial no, customer in original doc is already full.
