please try to delete dc_doc_desdoc_meta.pyc then bench restart.

Hi szufisher i did what u said and it worked , do i have to delete that file to all my custom doctype?
seems not necessary, per my experience, normally the pyc will be auto generated once the corresponding .py file changed, only when the error message indicates an old version of the .py source code is used and the .pyc file timestamp is not up to date, then we got to try manually delete this .pyc file.
anyway, I am happy your issue have been fixed by this solution.

Are you making the custom doctype in the ERPNext app?
Why not making it in a custom app?
