Create multiple variants only works in EN (not e.g. DE) V12

if the user interface is set to a language other than English, Item > Template > Make Multiple Variants will fails with

Is this a known issue? ERPNext v12.1.16…

Additional note to reproduce: it will only fail if the attribute dimension is translated. If the translation text is overwritten (e.g. “Size” > de “Size”) then it works…
