Charts of accounts "Balance must be Debit.credit" applicable for all child if parent account is configued

Hi guys,

I have a question for charts of accounts.

If the Balance must be Debit/Credit is applied for the Parent Charts of accounts does that mean all the child account will inherit this value if it is kept blank.

OR

We have to mention this field for all the Accounts irrespective of settings in parent account.
