Change the Default Industry Type?

I just noticed an industry type in the Setup section of ERPNext. How do I change my default industry type to say Retail & Wholesale for example?

Go to Company under setup and change the domain.

Hi @KanchanChauhan Thanks, but the drop down options are only the following:

  1. Distribution
  2. Manufacturing
  3. Retail
  4. Services
  5. Education
  6. Other

I remember seeing the industry type as Retail & Wholesale. Does this change the entire process, what is the significance of this industry type field?

Those are the available domains.

Industry Type is used to track Leads. You can set it up when creating a lead.

@Gladwyn_Lewis Based on the Industry Type selected your home screen Icons are customized. Also some doctypes etc are hidden. However these changes are reflected only on setup wizard competition.

Maybe it would also be nice to have the industry type linked to the Customer DocType for companies that aren’t using the CRM module and would like to have data on customer segmentation by industry :slight_smile:

@ishanloya You can always add a custom field to achieve the same.
