Change fieldtype

Hello everyone,
Can anyone tell me how to change fieldtype of docfields using javascript

for example in quotation I want to change discount amount field to readonly

  1. In Customize Form View for Quotatoin Item, set Permlevel as 1
  2. Add a new Role Permission Rule stating giving Read access to all for Level 1
