Can't add Maintain Stock to Article because of existing Transactions

Good day folks,
We started using ERPNext some weeks ago and it’s awesome.
As an SaaS Developer/Provider we do not have much concerns with “stock items”.

But one item has a serial number (it’s the only item we buy and sell, all others are developed by us).
The item is used in older invoices and other transactions from import.

When I now try to switch on “Maintain Stock” the system errors, because there are already transactions.

Is there any way to activate stocking for this article?

Hello,

Once stock transaction is created for an Item, then values in some fields including “Maintain Stock” cannot be customized. Please consider creating new Item Code and ensure to set correct value for that item in the said field.
