Can i use already uploaded file in doctype from file manager

Is it possible to use a file in Doctype,where file is already uploaded to File manager.so that i can avoid file duplication

System will not save 2 files if you upload the same file again - it will point to the same file.

But

When i want to attach a file in a doctype that already uploaded to file manager,i need to download the file from file manager and then only i can attach the file to doctype.

is there any possibility to attach the file directly from file manager,without downloading it.like listing files from file manager in file attach module ?
