Batch number on Sales Order

Hi,

Is there a way to reserve a given Batch while making a sales order?
If I create a new field (Link: Batch) by customizing the form, how will the workflow behave then, when I make a delivery note?

System will auto set the batch number on the delivery note, you have to keep the fieldname of the batch number for sales order same as the delivery note. Again system will not validate the selected batch’s quantity on the sales order but will validate on the delivery note.
