I would like to suggest that before long and time consuming patches there should be an option to administrator to either skip the patches and continue with update for other apps.
I am asking for such a thing because when I have to update my own custom app, then I generally run bench update which obviously updates all the apps including erpnext and now many a times there are certain patches which start to execute which are like too huge on DB and take hours to execute.
This is a problem as many a times I need to update a custom app for a hotfix and it gets stuck due to these time consuming patches which ideally should be run at night time when no one is working on the production system to avoid outages.
