A general comment on versions, design and architecture changes

Just pulled this off GitHub stats

So 4,300 clones from 1,500 unique system every fortnight. We started with 0 a few years ago, so yeah, its not as bad as some people think. I think we are doing alright.

Yes, ERPNext is getting a lot of traction. I think Brian’s concern is more about how many of these clones result in a correctly set up system. A system that will not change every day and can be rebuilt on another machine with the exact same configuration.

I would expect that 100 clones result in 10 running installations, from which only one is professionally set up.

Cloning a repo is easy. Getting ERPNext to run – not so much.

Good if you’re selling services, though

Indeed, I like your comment, the previous version icons were eye touching and I wish we could have the same or similar colors for V12 dashboard.
I’m still using V11 just because of color icons.
So, guys, I would suggest that we have decorative colors for coming versions

interesting read herein. after trying and installing various way the Install process IMO could do with some better documentation to know what is current, and more enhancement to the install process and options.
Our next test is to try the upgrades and see how they go. Self hosting is not for the fainted hearted.
