Upgrading from from version 6 to 7

OS ubuntu 14
on local machine the upgrade process was fine but when i tried to upgrade my server on digital ocean i am having errors
plz help 3 companies are hosted on our server and we are stuck in middle. no office work since two days

You’re running bench update from root, did you install ERPNext from root? That can cause some issues apparently. You should be running bench update (and the initial install) from a user that is not root that has sudo privileges.

Also, did you do:

bench update --upgrade

Like the error is asking?

tried that too same error
erpnext initial install was with root user … there is no other user on the droplet
also tried to install from the guide

but no success :frowning:
