Please HELP.

@ashishdesai

Thank you for sharing this.

Please check your original VM settings.

Thr 1Gb RAM on the new VM seems not enough tough.

The environment setup should be the same.

Hope this helps.

If I checked out the Logs from the Source Machine, it shows following.

Please suggest.

It seem this .ova is already in your container. Can’t overwrite.

In VIRTUALBOX open
ACTIVITIES drop down menu ( firs one on top left)
Open the Virtual media administration (CTRL+D)
Then clear all files in container.

Then try to import the .ova

Hope it helps.

@krnkris…Thank you very much for your response.

I have used very basic / practical approach is just to copy the whole folder from C:\Users<ABCD>\VirtualBox VMs\ERPNext-Production-20180331183346 to some other machine and pasted it.

Then, OVM has started with the complete old environment and without any issue.

Unfortunately, its 11GB of Size. So, can anybody help in reducing it to some few MBs ?

However, need your or anybody who can help to Export / Import Data and or Backup / Restore Complete Environment with some few commands and things can be easily replicated from one machine to another.

Looking forward for IDEAS…!!!

@ashishdesai

If you use Virtualbox, or other virtualisation and want to move to a different machine, then the best to STOP you instance and EXPORT the whole machine. Then on the other machine you just IMPORT it.

This can happen in Virtualbox Tools menu, but only after you STOP your running environment.

Hope this helps.

I am facing the same error anyone resolved this issue?

This issue occurs for me because of no disk space

Hi a web search on that ‘invalid arg’ error turns up this
https://www.virtualbox.org/ticket/18343

that advises to confirm your Windows host has enough disk space? My guess is you need probably in the order of a few 10s of GB of space?

I am not a VB or Windows user so others or a web or doc search will give you specific details how to do that.

Temporarily my issue has been sorted out for Importing the Image to the Oracle Virtual Box.

However, It shows 11 GB of the consumption on the Disk Storage.

How do we can compress or make less usage of storage drive ?

Secondly, is it possible to mount the said Image into windows 10 linux subsystem ? How ? What are the potential advantages / disadvantages and or issues ?

Does any one have tried it out ?
